Bai Hua Kai is a Da Hong Pao crafted by an excellent factory following its own original formula. The owner of this factory also possesses a plot in the famous Niu Lan Keng (although the raw materials for this particular tea obviously do not come from there). Being the landowner of such an exceptional location, he has great connectivity to the best resources, not limited to the highest-quality harvest but also his skilled team and the first-class tea masters. This benifits him with the finest techniques and greater creativity in tea production, logically resulting in an unique tea like Bai Hua Kai.
As its name suggests, Bai Hua Kai, meaning "a hundred flowers bloom" or "the bloom of diverse flowers," this tea highlights its complexity with a variety of floral aromas. While some warm fruity notes are also present in the dry leaves, upon contact with boiling water, a diverse array of flowers unfolds all around, floating from the wet leaves, dissolving into the liquor, lingering at the bottom of the cup, and ascending to the senses through the nose and mouth. Beyond its enchanting fragrance, this tea delivers a unique flavor experience, offering a sweet and smooth liquor that is refreshing and free from bitterness and astringency, with no hint of fire or charcoal notes.
The reason we offer this tea at a special price is to properly introduce the light/medium-light roasted Yancha. There are many misunderstandings about this "untraditional" type, including the idea that it lacks Yan Yun (often known as minerality, although it doesn't completely capture the essence of the concept). In good examples like this one, you'll clearly experience Yan Yun, the typical characteristic of Yancha, which is sometimes confused with roasting notes.
