Together with Xishuangbanna and Pu’er, Lincang is one of the three Puerh production areas. Lincang is an area with immense natural resources, especially thanks to its huge diversity of tea varietals, and it being one of the areas with the largest stock of ancient tea tree heritage.

We would love to introduce you to this great choice from Lincang. It takes a few extra seconds to activate the flavors of this tea in the first infusion, but we like to suggest brewing it as usual without extending steeping time, as you will still find a magical sweetness in the first watery infusion. However, the real journey starts from the second infusion. Puerh from Lincang is usually thought to have more astringency and a less noticeable bitterness, however, both of them are moderate and well-balanced in our 2014 Lincang Gushu Raw/Sheng Puerh. The tea soup is round, soft and smooth and unlike many Puerh where the sweetness comes after the bitterness, the sweetness is already in the tea soup at the beginning and lasts. After the first aging cycle of 7 years, the aging aroma starts to be clear, and the fruity and nutty scents are well preserved.

Although the tea is named as Gushu, due to the trusted relationship we have with our supplier, he was truthful enough to tell us that the harvest is actually from Qiaomu, but if we were to be honest, we would say that it has all the characters of Gushu tea.
